We will not give unwanted advice, or ask if they have seeked professional help, or ask his/her parents why she hasn't gotten over "it" yet. The intention is not so that we can gossip about them, but so they do not feel uncomfortable and singled out when they are in our company. And most likely it will be family members that they will feel okay to mingle with first before going out in the real world, and you don't want them to feel pitied or seen as a victim etc.

If an uncle marries a witch, we will be civil until he figures it out (and of course sometimes they don't). And elder aunt will break the silence, and the younger members will nod silently (you have to always agree with your eldest aunt, this is another unwritten rule).

Now if this social-disaster ettiquette is ignored by a female member of the family/friend, she will be shunned from that tight guardianship forever. She will be the Angelina Jolie of the family.

I might sound preachy, and i know we're all busy with something (facebook) or the other (bbm) but I would be interested in hearing views on this.

Note: You cannot comment on Angelina Jolie

P.S. Women, if they wanted to dance, would cover up their bare shoulders with a shawl.

In the early to mid 2000's: if the groom comes in with his brothers, that is considered avant guard (the excuse being: the bride doesn't want to cover up or wear her hijab); the bride's father even ceased to show up (an old tradition says that the father of the bride should not come in to his daughter's wedding, was revived). If there happened to be a male band to come in for a short time, or if the groom is sitting and a girl or woman decides to dance, it was considered shameful, 3aib.

This year: Men are allowed back in, band members are there for longer periods, celebrity male singers are allowed in for longer, the father of the bride is a vital part of the wedding, the bride wants to dance, the groom is cheering her, and the dance floor is filled with frolicking women and girls.

Is it a backlash against the oppressive laws put into effect by parliament in the past few years (like segregating the sexes in universities)? Or have we become less of social hypocrites?Shebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08018046286112336968noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924708.post-4403522916251302212008-09-22T02:16:00.003+03:002008-09-22T02:25:50.335+03:00Self Conscious, No MoreI woke up one day very confident, and not shy.

I used to not be able to enter or walk comfortably anywhere, in a mall, office, bank, wedding, etc. I used to worry about what to do with my hands, is it rude to establish eye contact, is it expected that i smile, nod, greet? How will I greet, with a handshake, a kiss?

And one day i noticed that i was walking into a situation where i would have been normally uncomfortable, and was so at ease, and oblivious to any surrounding humans. I was confident, not shy, and i was not thinking of how to behave or act.

How and when it happened, i am not sure. (Supplied)The British ex-boyfriend of missing South African Kerry Winter has admitted to murdering the 35-year-old and dumping her body in the sea off Dubai's coast.

Winter disappeared a month ago and was last seen by neighbours being beaten with a baseball bat by her ex, bundled into a car and driven away.

Mark Arnold, 42, had previously admitted to the assault, but maintained he cleaned up her wounds and dropped her off on the side of the road in the desert, according to the victim's family.

However, in an interview from his prison cell with UK newspaper the Daily Mail Arnold has finally confessed to battering his former love to death during "30 seconds of madness".

Story continues below ↓
advertisement

"It was 30 seconds of madness... I think I hit her three times... she died because of me," he told the newspaper.

"It was a total accident. I am not a violent man and I am not a murderer. It was an accident but she died because of me and I am willing to take my punishment.

"I am prepared to admit to the truth but I do not want to be fitted up."

Arnold, director of a Middle East design company, told the newspaper he and Winter bumped into each other in a bar on Aug. 20, the night of her disappearance, and got into an argument.

Arnold said he then followed Winter home and the pair got into a fight outside her apartment. During the fight he said he hit her with a stick a few times, but denies it was a baseball bat.

Arnold said after the fight the pair drove off to a quiet spot to talk and ended up falling asleep there. When he awoke she was dead, he said.

"When I woke up, she was dead. I was horrified, so scared. I can only think that she had a thin skull or something like that because she was okay when we got in the car," he told the Daily Mail.

"I was scared. I tried to cover my tracks and put Kerry on my boat and left it anchored off shore.

"I returned after work and drove around for four or five hours and ended up putting Kerry's body into the sea. I do not know where. I wish I had never gone anywhere near the villa. I wish I had swallowed my pride and my anger."

However, despite the confession Arnold may only face a charge of manslaughter unless police recover the body.

"Our legal advice is that if they don't find a body, he may only face a manslaughter charge and a lower sentence. He's got a top lawyer and may be thinking about that," Winter's brother Kurt, 41, told the newspaper.

"He has changed his story all along and spoken hogwash. We have prepared ourselves for Kerry's death but we won't rest until we find her body."

Arnold was arrested after returning from a trip to the UK. He flew to the UK two days after Winter disappeared.

Friends of Winter have portrayed Arnold as obsessive, possessive and jealous, and said Winter had accused her ex-boyfriend of stalking her and that she was forced to move home three times.Shebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08018046286112336968noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924708.post-54111811263757070992008-09-17T01:11:00.000+03:002008-09-17T01:16:47.975+03:00يا حلوها<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjry0_l8_CorquR4YD-mwVa0hJdi4JhMUGY8w6c5sslkKZ_sEUHEXJkZjfM3RNDNvXO__7XQ-lz5QusuAsrc1pQ7ESdtL4ljeDeBCMA51CRw-bmg6QjhE_JrCuxT4909SXQNlqM/s320/M_Alghnaim.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246746474142465634" />

I love this woman!Shebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08018046286112336968noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924708.post-54578152677059777442008-09-15T15:37:00.002+03:002008-09-15T15:43:55.436+03:00الرجاء من جميع المتداولين الاكثار من الاستغفار<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDDuWe1xWvRFw_f2zGeWWOmkcole4-L4_jo74rRVwktGAiRrRJt45A0KSal1pYsBFD0tOlp5ykMSgw9Ao5eVNuHzVALsD7WncOTZ5MlXoYCsz396EcLi3-HkvBSgi4O9spwYRm/s320/kse.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5246227265694313906" />Shebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08018046286112336968noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924708.post-45178507221028880412008-09-05T04:23:00.003+03:002008-09-05T04:39:49.975+03:00Its Been a WhileEmbarak Aliakum il Shahar

I really want to blog, but whenever i do, i'm in bed and wish that i had a mental writer (i think and it types).

So, politically things have gone from bad to worst, as expected, and i am trying to be as apathetic as possible.

Work wise, i have a new job (ish) since March 2008.

I've discovered facebook, but i haven't gotten into it.

I suffered summer of 08 in Kuwait, almost entirely-- and it pleases me to say that i still have some parts of my brain working.

Its not rude to ignore some people.

Some people are genuinely good people.

Food advise: Berhi dates with KDD Sour cream or KDD Royal (thick & creamy, tastes like Greek yogurt).Shebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08018046286112336968noreply@blogger.com13tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924708.post-51181395940682172852008-06-24T02:49:00.004+03:002008-06-24T03:14:46.043+03:00Sex and the CityMy 8 yr old nephew walked in on me in the sex scene where the camera was zoomed on a guy's ass and there was a lot of moaning AND THE DAMNED REMOTE WOULDN'T PAUSE!
After having suffered that trauma, and after making sure that nephew is not scarred for life, i went back to watching and here is my verdict:

1. Why did Carrie let go of the wedding she wanted, it was her 1st, and his 3rd.

Prediction: Carrie will be miserable, as Big will tell her in a few years that he's moving to another city, and in the airport he'll tell her that he's not sure he loves her. She moves with him. She blames herself for HIS feelings, they move back to NYC, adopt a child, he starts cheating on her, she'll find out and deny it. She will be miserable but never ask for a divorce.

Note: the above has all happened to someone i know, and my advise if you're waiting for Big, you're better of with Samantha's Smith.

Note 2: Gulf Bigs are happiest marrying a kanafa wife.Shebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08018046286112336968noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924708.post-4288142971429941092008-05-22T15:04:00.003+03:002008-05-22T15:18:35.324+03:00Join the Campaign<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaBmLDPX0yINI8-Y62qOeK3sTeVr9JbpPxbFEKF4ic90KhyQHhZqqWXhP_z3YbgwL856HZUVfg0RzhTDXIqjQ9zxtYLxcEYiW2ZV4R4-m2elfe9KWhQ5Y2opV9BSX56WM5tIrN/s320/nasser.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203174339826752658" />

This is an opportunity to start our own movement, its objectives are WE LOVE KUWAIT AND NOT OUR POCKETS, OR FOREIGN AGENDAS, SO DON'T TRY TO CHANGE US.

What you gain in signing up: Some Knowledge.

How to sign up: Send a comment to this post.

Volunteers required!Shebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08018046286112336968noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924708.post-91167045438967503652008-05-19T14:07:00.004+03:002008-05-19T14:14:59.113+03:00ترقبو نقابات باردة ومصفحة<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjr3ywVEKW4N5_R6LhkeKFfiyRHuugYs118Aq8wE7N3bSEQHmo7AHzV2ORHRpGVhJkjVxr-vbJsxUFFqnkQ4VwaQLSecfC-AZ9ErxMJiwMg-f1IoMWcKscoceHMnMrJtYcU4XZW/s320/taliban+beating.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202044305518237330" />

ترقبو نقابات باردة ومصفحة من الداخل لتحميكم من الكدمات
جميع الالوان متوفرة
سارعوا بطلب تشكيلة رمضان 1429
يعني Fall/Winter 2008

Shebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08018046286112336968noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924708.post-54503120891493212922008-03-03T03:04:00.001+03:002008-03-03T03:07:01.565+03:00Harry Vs. (AFP)Nearly one in three people in the Arab world is illiterate, including nearly half of all women in the region, the Tunis-based Arab League Educational Cultural and Scientific Organisation (Alecso) said Monday.

Three-quarters of the 100 million people unable to read or write in the 21 Arab countries are aged between 15 and 45 years old, Alecso said in a statement.

Equally alarming, some 46.5% of women in the region are illiterate, the organisation reported, urging governments to put the fight against illiteracy at the top of their agendas. Shebahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08018046286112336968noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7924708.post-36530716940511294512007-12-30T14:43:00.000+03:002007-12-30T16:08:34.611+03:00Tis the Season to...A.
