Secrets

Little secrets (accumulated after observing happy and non- happily married people):

• If she’s happy, you’re happy.

• Emotional satisfaction makes forever love.

• A friend who knows a lot about children, told me that one way you can tell when a child is emotionally deprived is when they hug you for no reason (you being a stranger) and they have no separation anxiety (from being separated from their parents). SECRET: Women are the same.

• It takes a good man to make a good woman.

• It takes a loving man to make a happy home.

• It takes a dedicated husband and father to make a happy/healthy family.

• Respect Respect & Respect.

• Be kind, even when you’re fighting. Some scars last forever.

• Do NOT keep score of what you give, be generous and make sure you WANT to give what you have given.

• Passion.

• Have fun together.

• Have a life together.

• Have a life independent of each other.

• Talk.

Crap, crap & crap

one more thing

If we allowed ourselves to be fooled by our (limited) observations, we would still think the Earth is flat. Don't forget that what you observe through your senses, changes according to your inner feelings and emotions, hopes, dreams, fears. So what you see as being perfect and sweet, can be horrible and fake to someone else observing the same situation. There is NO secret to happy marriages, it all has to do with how adaptive the person is. Like anything in this world, if you want to survive you have to adapt, you get rid of old habits, you change your looks, you change the intercourse position, you do whatever you can to make yourself an attractive mate.
Or you can improve your skills in acting happy in front of your friends and family, While you keep the tears for yourself, like most Kuwaiti couples do.

Anonymous what your are saying is correct that marriage does take alot of hard work to make it work. Perhaps there is no cush thing as a happy marriage but I wouldn't call it triple crap.

Alot of Sheba's points are quite valid although she did concentrate on a man's role more than a woman's.

I would say that the first and foremost factor is reciprocated RESPECT. Once that is gone, there is no patching the relationship.

Respect doesn't mean putting your partner on a pedestal and treating them like glass. But it means common courtesy, and never crossing the boundaries of good manners and proper treatment.

There's a saying old says that love is blind
Still we're often told "seek and ye shall find"
So I'm going to seek a certain girl I've had in mind
Looking everywhere, haven't found her yet

She's the big affair I cannot forget
Only girl I ever think of will regret
I'd like to add her initial to my monogram
Tell me where's the shepherd for this lost lamb

There's a somebody I'm longing to see
I hope that she turns out to be
Someone who'll watch over me
I'm a little lamb who's lost in a wood
I know I could always be good
To one who'll watch over me

Although she may not the girl some men think of
As handsome to my heart
She carries the key

Won't you tell her please to put on some speed
Follow my lead, oh how I need
Someone to watch over me
Someone to watch over me

That was just a song...I thought would go well with your post.

Anony,
I am a believer.

Jewaira,
Yes, its in his hands most of the time.

Misguided,
Thank you for the lovely song. I don't know if i believe that true love is blind, i think its more 'qesma & naseeb' (fate).

Ms. Baker!!

Welcome back :**
