Guenevere, Sir Lancelot, & King Arthur
Now we come to the sorrowful tale of Lancelot and Guenevere, and of the death of King Arthur. Already it has been told that King Arthur had wedded Guenevere, the daughter of Leodegrance, King of Cornwall, a damsel who seemed made of all the flowers, so fair was she, and slender, and brilliant to look upon. And the Knights in her father's Court bowed down before her, and smote their hardest in the jousts where Guenevere was present, but none dared ask her in marriage till Arthur came. Like the rest he saw and loved her, but, unlike them, he was a King, and might lift his eyes even unto Guenevere. The maiden herself scarcely saw or spoke to him, but did her father's bidding in all things, and when he desired her to make everything ready to go clothed as beseemed a Princess to King Arthur's Court, her heart beat with joy at the sight of rich stuffs and shining jewels. Then one day there rode up to the Castle a band of horsemen sent by the King, to bring her to his Court, and at the head of them Sir Lancelot du Lake, friend of King Arthur, and winner of all the jousts and tournaments where Knights meet to gain honour. Day by day they rode together apart and he told her tales of gallant deeds done for love of beautiful ladies, and they passed under trees gay with the first green of spring, and over hyacinths covering the earth with sheets of blue, till at sunset they drew rein before the silken pavilion, with the banner of Uther Pendragon floating on the top. And Guenevere's heart went out to Lancelot before she knew.
p. 133
[paragraph continues] One evening she noted, far across the plain, towers and buildings shining in the sun, and an array of horsemen ride forth to meet her. One stopped before her dazzled eyes, and leaping from his horse bowed low. Arthur had come to welcome her, and do her honour, and to lead her home. But looking up at him, she thought him cold, and, timid and alone, her thoughts turned again to Lancelot. After that the days and years slipped by, and these two were ever nearest the King, and in every time of danger the King cried for Lancelot, and trusted his honour and the Queen's to him. Sir Lancelot spoke truly when he told Elaine that he had never worn the badge of lady or maiden, but for all that every one looked on Sir Lancelot as the Queen's Knight, who could do no worship to any other woman. The King likewise held Sir Lancelot bound to fight the Queen's battles,-and if he was absent on adventures of his own, messengers hastened to bring him back, as in the fight with Sir Mador. So things went on for many years, and the King never guessed that the Queen loved Lancelot best.

Fantasy
I've always loved bikes, and guys on bikes, and i have this fantasy that has to come true before i die I WANT TO RIDE WITH A STRANGER. Is that weird?
I was at Marina Cresent the other day to pick up my share of Krispy Kremes and there they were, lots of bikers, but all scary/pervy looking.
Mind you i have seen hunkie ones, but i'm way too shy & scared to do it. Maybe i will get the courage some day!

Krispy Kremes
I thought this was going to be another complaining post about how Americana ruins everything, even the heavenly Krispy Kreme doughnuts, until i found this blog:
Glocalization of an American icon: Krispy Kreme
Some Krispy news:
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. has awarded franchise rights to a Kuwaiti restaurant company, the Americana Group. Under the agreement, Americana Group is to open 100 Krispy Kreme (NYSE: KKD) locations in Egypt, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and other locations in the region. The first location is scheduled to open in Kuwait this fall.
“We are looking forward to introducing Krispy Kreme and the hot doughnut experience to our customers in the Middle East,” Marzouk Nasser Al-Kharafi, chairman of the Americana Group, said in a news release. “In full partnership with Krispy Kreme, we intend to be successful in our region by building on Krispy Kreme’s superior brand, which our customers will come to appreciate and embrace.”
Apparently, the American TV commercial has this as a tagline: "Americana...100% Arabic"
haha
Well, this took the thunder of my complaint, but i still have to say it, the doughuts smell like frying oil, and the glaze is too thick (they probably insisted on using Americana sugar and Dallal oil from KFC).
Oh and in all fairness, the New York Cheescake was very good! I will go back for that one!

Manual of the Warrior of Light
She handed him a blue notebook full of blank pages.
"Write: a warrior of light values a child's eyes because they are able to look at the world without bitterness. When he wants to find out if the person beside him is worthy of his trust, he tries to see him as a child would."
--Paulo Coelho

Older
At 34 i can actually taste and feel myself bloom into a wiser, sexier, and smarter version of me. I love it.
Not only do i know more, but i can also sense more.
I can also stand prouder for what i believe in, not caring about peer or social pressure.
I am not afraid.
I am not only comfortable in my own skin, i love my own skin.

Other Tricks
You know what else works to forget why you are unhappy?
1. Staying up all night so that you're delirious, and then waking up tired, and pissed of and angry and with a slight sense of dementia. Danger with this one is that there is a fine line between grumpy and depressed.
2. Eating. Downside to this one is that when you wake up 1 Kg heavier, there is a fine line between angry and depressed.

Retail Therapy
LCD Tv, Dior, jewelry, furniture, etc..
Does retail therapy work? Yes.
How does it work?
1. Its a statement saying "if i cant have love, i can go to Salhiya" This feeling of achievement overwhelms your feeling of loss for 20 minutes if you spent KD 4000.
2. When your cards stop working at your last destination, your feeling of extreme embarrassment will also overwhelm your feeling of loss for 7.6 minutes.
3. When you get your sms bank statement, you get dumbfounded for 2 minutes as if it was someone else who has been using your card.
Total time achieved of pain relief: 29.6 minutes

Sick
We have a disturbing phenomenon in most Kuwaiti marriages in the 25-35 age group:
1. The Kuwaiti male: After complaining for almost his entire adult life that dating in Kuwait sucks because he cannot publicly go out with his loved one, once married regards dating his wife, a chore "wajeb" and makes silly excuses like "its too crowded and its too hot". News Flash: Kuwait did not change in the few months that you got married.
2. The Kuwaiti female: After years of fantasizing about love and marriage, she decides a while after getting hitched that her husband is less attractive than anyone else.
"Grass is greener on the other side" applies to more than just Kuwaiti couples, but i think its more common to see this here.
What do you think?
Are you guilty of any of the above and care to share your point of view?

I hate it when i know too much, not because someone told me, but because some people are just so obvious!

Where are You on this Pyramid?
Is blogging an attempt to fill a void?
I dreamt of a scary mouse jumping out of my food last week.
Who am i talking to here?
Love the meditative mood i get in while doing my excersize regimen, and the feel good hormones afterwards.

Go Away
I cannot live and I cannot die
I cannot smile and I cannot cry
I cannot love and I cannot lie
I poison everything before my eye
If it wasn’t them You chose to take
If it is wasn’t me who had to stay
I’m neither there nor are they here
I try to banish this life for them
But I fail
Turn the lights off
Go away

You’re free and rid of the guilt of me
You’re free and rid of the guilt of what we could be
You’re free and rid of the guilt of not loving me
You’re free and you erased every memory of beauty
You’re free and you destroyed every possibility
You’re free and rid of every sadness, compared to the happiness of you & me
You’re free and rid of every aspect of taking any responsibility
